Certification Process

  • V3 Core Curriculum – (~2.0 hrs)
  • Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights (USERRA)– (~30 minutes)
  • OJT/Apprenticeship: Building an On-the-Job Training or Apprenticeship Program – (~30 minutes)
  • Leverage your LVER: Veteran Employment Services through the Virginia Employment Commission – (~30 minutes)
  • Virginia Veteran and Family Support Program: Dispelling myths of PTSD / TBI – (~30 minutes)
  • Virginia National Guard: “Vet” is a Big Word: The Value of Hiring a Virginia National Guardsman – (~30 minutes)
  • Optional: V3 Organizational Veteran Hiring Plan webinar

*Enrolled companies will have one year to complete all mandatory training for certification listed below. 

Contact your company’s assigned V3 Regional Program Manager (RPM) to submit your V3 Certification Request and required documentation. If you are unsure about your company’s assigned RPM click here.

  1. Submit your company’s Organizational Veteran Hiring Plan (OVHP) Checklist
  2. Submit your company’s official logo
  3. Submit your company’s Executive Cover Letter
  4. Annual Hiring Goal

Your company’s assigned RPM will contact you directly once the Governor’s Office and the Virginia Department of Veterans Services Commissioner has approved your request.

Certification is active for five years.

  1. Your company will now be able to promote you new certification status by:
  2. Placing the V3 Program logo on your company’s website
  3. Placing the V3 Program logo on company marketing materials
  4. Showing your company’s Certification Seal
