We are extraordinarily pleased to report that the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) has approved the V3 Program as an Approved Provider of continuing education credits toward recertification in the Human Resource field. The V3 program has submitted the Core Curriculum — including the general survey curriculum, small business curriculum, and manufacturer employer curriculum — to HRCI for review, and will build upon our repertoire of approved training sessions by submitting the V3 Supplemental Curriculum for review.
The V3 Core Curriculum educates employers on why hiring Veterans is a good business decision and how to build a business case for hiring veterans; trains employers on current best practices in Veteran recruiting, hiring, and retention; and provides resources to employers to help them connect with the Veteran talent pool. The V3 Supplemental Curriculum educates employers on a variety of subjects, including the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA); Veteran On-the-Job Training and Apprenticeship Programs; the value of employing members of the National Guard and Reserve; using the Virginia Workforce Connection Database; and dispelling myths of PTSD.
Virginia Values Veterans’ status as an HRCI approved provider brings an increased value to the program, and provides an even greater incentive for our private-sector partners in the Commonwealth to participate in the V3 initiative. We are excited about providing this valuable service to Human Resource professionals who have demonstrated their commitment — and their companies’ — to increasing employment opportunities for Virginia’s Veterans.
